Doors open at 6:30pm.

Show runs from 7:00–9:30pm, with a leisurely intermission.

Hang until 11:00pm. We’ll have non-alcoholic drinks and some very light snacks.

What’s a PowerPoint Party, you ask? Exactly what it sounds like.

The way we run it: 12 presentations, a maximum of 7 minutes each, about anything at all. Our favorite nights are when there is wide variety in presenters, topics, and styles. At past parties, people have presented about their rules for life, four-letter words, Dyson spheres, and how to find an address. It’s a wide mix.

You should totally come, learn something new, and experience the pleasure of seeing people talk excitedly about something they love. And make a new friend! It‘s really easy when they’ve just told you exactly what you can talk to them about.

We currently have 3 of 12 presentation spots left. If you’d like to be added to the waiting list, email hello@thecompany.social (or text Ivan/Livvy if you have their number). If you’re planning to present, see “Notes for Presenters” below. (If the list has filled up by the time you contact us, we’ll add you to the waiting list.)

Doors open at 6:30pm.
Show runs from 7:00–9:30pm, with a leisurely intermission.
Hang until 11:00pm.

We’ll have non-alcoholic drinks and some very light snacks.

Free street parking is available around the venue (see SpotAngels).

Should I bring anything?

If presenting, you may bring your presentation on your laptop (though it’s preferred you send it ahead of time)

  • A sufficiently full belly, because the snacks will be light! (You can always bring a snack to share!)

  • We’ll provide non-alcoholic drinks, but if you prefer spiritual drinks, you may bring your own.

Notes for presenters

Prepare a (PowerPoint/Keynote/Google Slides/PDF/etc.) presentation, between 2–7 minutes in length. It can be about ANYTHING (that’s the fun of it!). We’re projecting at 16:9 (1920 x 1080) (also referred to as “widescreen” in some presentation setup menus). You can do 4:3 if you want, it’ll just be using less of the projection area.

  1. Bring your own computer to connect directly to our projector (via HDMI or USB-C), or, preferably, send your files or a link to Ivan (files can be uploaded here, links to Google Slides can be shared with ivan@ruiz-knott.com (yes it’s a Google account)).

  2. When sending your files, please format them “FirstnameLastname-Title-Date”.

  3. Please show up at or before doors (6:30pm) to do a quick tech check.

  4. The show order will be displayed on the whiteboard, though we might also update this page to include it.

  5. At 6 minutes you’ll get a one-minute warning sound; at 7 minutes you’ll be kindly disrupted. Don’t go over 7 minutes or we’ll resent you.

  6. If you’re willing to share your presentation with the crowd after the event, please also provide a PDF version if possible, or a public link to Google slides, and send any relevant links to Ivan for him to include in the post-show notes.

You may cancel your ticket for a full refund up to 24 hours before the event. Click "manage tickets" in your confirmation email. Contact hello@thecompany.social with any questions.
