Details
Let’s hang! We’re hosting a low-key event to get to know everyone (and their projects) a little better. We’ll talk about what we’re jamming on, what we’re learning, what we’d like to work on or learn, etc. We’ll have a TV we’ll be able to connect to via HDMI.
See you soon!
New Venue
Going forward, all generative art meetups will be hosted at The Company.
The Company will also be where we’ll host the annual demo night / art show / party, so if you’re interested in exhibiting, definitely come check out the space!
2nd floor. Go up the exterior stairs.
What to bring
You don’t need to bring anything, but if you want to show us some of your work (very much encouraged), bring your laptop/sketchbook/etc. Don’t forget to your charger and any adapters you might need to connect to the tv via HDMI. We’ll have a usb-c to HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable.
Parking
There’s free street parking and paid lots near the venue. Parking map here
Misc
The generative art group has a discord!
One of our previous events was a Show & Tell—basically this event except people prepared presentations beforehand. Check out the recap here.
After every meetup we add things people have mentioned to the group's link archive
Previously
Norton shared a variable font, an ascii art generator, and pen plotter prints of a pixel font he’s working on.
Mason demoed a 3d game engine he wrote from scratch that he’s been using to make visuals for live shows.
Jeremy showed us his digital fabrication projects, his gallery/museum exhibits, and a camper he built.
Ben introduced us to the concept of interlinear translation, demoed a tool for conducting interlinear translation, and showed us concrete poetry with a temporal dimension
Will demoed his browser-based tool for making and sharing zines
Livvy showed us public art projects she worked on at Hovercraft
EJ enjoyed the show and talked to us about Plato’s allegory of the cave
About the group
