Old Year’s Resolution Party

Come for the introspection, stay for the company

Tuesday, December 31, 2024

2:30pm to 6:30pm

2101 W 29th Ave

$0-$10

Doors at 2:30, workshopping at 3.

What happened to you this past year? How did it resolve? Before whatever wild midnight celebration you’re going to, come to The Company and make a small artifact of 2024.

Here’s how it will go

We’ll spread out and have some guided quiet time to reflect on 2024 through a variety of prompts that we will provide, and simultaneously making a simple artifact about the year (you can make a presentation, a zine, or just write an essay; we’ll provide some copy-able templates to use). (~2hr)

At the end of the quiet reflection time, and depending on how many of us there are, we will share what we’ve made. (~1hr)

A point of this is that you don’t need to think about this or prepare anything ahead of time.

We have a presentation template, a doc template, and printed worksheets. If you don’t want any of those as your memento, you can write in a notebook, on a phone, on another program on your laptop—whatever you prefer (except chisels and tablets—those are too noisy and dusty). You can share (or not share) that with the rest of us however you like.

It’ll be a calm and thoughtful cozy relaxed time.

What to bring

  1. Your laptop (and probably a charger).

  2. Anything that would help you remember what happened this year. (This is probably your calendar or photos on your phone but might be a journal or something else where these sorts of hints are stashed away.)

  3. Headphones for focus.

  4. (Very optional) A snack to share.*

*We are doing this between mealtimes so we don’t have worry about food, but some snacks for munching would be fun. We will have some warm tea.

Templates

Make a copy of either of these into your own Drive for editing:

If you prefer writing on paper, here is a PDF. We will have printed copies of this as well.

You may cancel your ticket for a full refund up to 24 hours before the event. Click "manage tickets" in your confirmation email. Contact hello@thecompany.social with any questions.
