Small videogames with big ambitions
In this talk Rafael Fajardo will share the processes, failures, and successes behind his games: Crosser (p5js+play); and Migraciones (C#, Unity, and OpenTSPS). The games are small in that all gameplay occurs in a single screen. They are ambitious in their attempts at poetic use of game mechanics to comment on culture.

—

Joel Swanson
Interdisciplinary artist

The Depth of Words
Writing has always had depth, from chisel cuts in stone to a drop shadow in one line of CSS. This talk traces the dimensions of text from Sesame Street to word vectors, and explores how AI is changing more than the way we write: it’s changing the shape of meaning itself.

—

Phillip David Stearns
Artist

Coplanar Nations
An improvised audio visual performance that employs the use of z-fighting to dramatize open armed conflicts between modern nations, states, peoples and governing bodies by mapping flags as textures onto coplanar surfaces in order to force-render a "compromised state", a resolution that is never fully resolved.
