Back in college, Ivan and some friends, living too far from a major cultural center, created their own knock-off of The Moth that they called Glint: A Storytelling.
Same exact rules as The Moth: true stories, told live, without notes, loosely based on a theme.
Nowadays, Ivan and some different friends live in a major-enough cultural center, which is a home to The Moth Denver with its StorySLAMS, always hosted at Swallow Hill Music, always hosted once a month, always on Friday nights.
For various reasons, Ivan can never make it to those. And so, again with the knock-off.
Is this town big enough for two live-storytelling events? Who knows. But we’re gonna give it a shot. We learned from our last run that stories of modest adventures told by thoughtful friends can feel just as transporting as grand adventures told by the best of raconteurs.
And if we end up getting in a lurid turf war with The Moth that can only be resolved by a dramatic storytelling-off, we’ll at least have tried.
For our first very first (of the second iteration of) Glint, the theme is Beginning.
Come tell and hear stories with different takes on this theme.
We’ve got slots for 12 5 minute stories, and we have 2 spots left. If you’d like to be a teller, email us at hello@thecompany.social or talk to any member of The Management.
