What’s a PowerPoint Party, you ask? Exactly what it sounds like.
The way we run it: 12 presentations, a maximum of 7 minutes each, about anything at all. Our favorite nights are when there is wide variety in presenters, topics, and styles. At past ones, people have presented about topics like travels, maps, and memory dividends. It’s a wide mix.
You should totally come, learn something new, and experience the pleasure of seeing people talk excitedly about something they love. And make a new friend! It‘s really easy when they’ve just told you exactly what you can talk to them about.

Details
Doors open at 6:30pm.
Show runs from 7:00–9:30pm, with a leisurely intermission.
Hang until 11:00pm.
We’ll have non-alcoholic drinks and some very light snacks.
Should I bring anything?
If presenting, you may bring your presentation on your laptop (though it’s preferred you send it ahead of time)
A sufficiently full belly, because the snacks will be light! (You can always bring a snack to share!)
We’ll provide non-alcoholic drinks, but if you prefer spiritual drinks, you may bring your own.
Notes for presenters
Prepare a (PowerPoint/Keynote/Google Slides/PDF/etc.) presentation, between 2–7 minutes in length. It can be about anything (that’s the fun of it!)!
No direct promotion. Plugging resources you love is okay, but please don’t use this as an advertising or marketing opportunity. If you’re wondering whether what you’re doing is too promotional, ask us!
We’re projecting at 16:9 (1920 x 1080) (also referred to as “widescreen” in some presentation setup menus).
Send your files or a link to Ivan (files can be uploaded here, links to Google Slides can be shared with ivan@ruiz-knott.com (yes it’s a Google account)). Or, bring your own computer to connect directly to our projector (via HDMI or USB-C).
When sending your files, please format them “FirstnameLastname-Title-Date”.
Please show up at or before doors (6:30pm) to do a quick tech check.
The show order will be displayed on the whiteboard.
At 6 minutes you’ll get a one-minute warning sound; at 7 minutes you’ll be kindly disrupted. Don’t go over 7 minutes or we’ll resent you.
If you’re willing to share your presentation with the crowd after the event, please also provide a PDF version if possible, or a public link to Google slides, and send any relevant links to Ivan for him to include in the post-show notes.
You may cancel your ticket for a full refund up to 24 hours before the event. Click "manage tickets" in your confirmation email. Contact hello@thecompany.social with any questions.
