Longlisted for the 2023 Desperate Literature Prize for Short Fiction. A pretty scary podcast fiction audiodrama about super-intelligent rats ("Rat King"). My six-year-long Dungeons and Dragons campaign. (Nearly) two master's degrees.
The obsessions
Sourdough bulk fermentation. When I'm going to build that console table. Atomized culture and the need for civic-minded communities and villages. Using the phrase "car storage" instead of "parking," and other ways we can re-align wording to re-prioritize how we live. What the future will look like if we find a way to figure out at least 40% of our problems. What the heck happened to big ideas and world-changing inventions? How much we all really need each other. The difference between Risk and Uncertainty, and why our current world seems to be the result of boring scaredy cats being the only people with significant time or money. How, during COVID, when we all thought the world was going to end, we all spent a lot of time ingesting a lot of art
